Desk
I start by cutting out the sections for the table top, monitor stand, and the shelves.
Next I sanded all the edges and corners. Hit the top surface with a wire wheel to remove the softer wood grain. Then I spray painted over the top with 3 different color paints.
I then used a scraper to scrape the raised wood portions that were left behind after using the wire wheel to reveal the wood grain. After that I applied a few coats of light stain.
I then constructed the legs and shelf portion out of 2x3 and secured it together with lag bolts for a more industrial look.
I then assembled all the components, attaching the table top to the frame and adding the monitor stand. Finally I gave the table surfaces a clear coat of epoxy.
Here is my finished desk! I’m pretty happy with the results. It fits my space perfectly!
