This design for a pistol popped into my head the other day and I decided it would be a fun thing to make. Along with that, I love science fiction and I don’t have nearly enough sci-fi props in my collection. Because I wanted this to be a fast project I decided to follow WM armory’s E-book on prop gun building out of EVA foam.
Essentially it is made of multiple layers of foam sandwiched together and glued with barge contact cement. Then I added thinner craft foam for the raised details and a dremel and a wood burner for for the recessed details. Then I hit it with some black spray paint, then buffed it with graphite, and finally put a coat of clearcoat over it to seal it.
This project took me about 5 or 6 hours to build not including paint dry time.
